Description

Take a short ride over to Stock Island and settle in for a true locals’ afternoon at one of the Lower Keys’ most beloved hidden gems. Tucked away in Safe Harbor Marina on Stock Island, Hogfish Bar & Grill isn’t just a locals’ spot—it’s THE locals’ spot. No frills, no nonsense—just strong pours, killer waterfront views, and that old-school Florida Keys charm you won’t find on Duval.

Saturday anytime between 11 am and 1 pm we invite you to join us for lunch, great music and fun photo ops!

Order off the menu or just grab a drink at the bar and ease into the afternoon with live music, good company, and a laid-back island vibe. While you’re there, you might want to try the sandwich that put Hogfish on the map—their world-famous Hogfish Sandwich, piled high with Swiss, sautéed onions, and mushrooms on fresh Cuban bread. Or go all-in with Jimmy’s Key West Cheeseburger in Paradise, made from a fresh daily blend of sirloin, brisket, and chuck (sourced from the infamous Fausto’s Food Palace iykyk) with onions, mushrooms, and melted cheese.

You’ll also have the chance to meet and get pictures with some of the contestants from Friday night’s Bubba Look-Alike Contest.

Owner Bobby Mongelli will be on hand, sharing stories from his years in Key West—including a lifetime ago working as Jimmy’s gardener. Hogfish has long been part of that extended orbit, and it was here—at these very picnic tables—that Jimmy had lunch the last time he was in Key West, later sharing the moment with fans on his socials.

The docks themselves have their own story—serving as a filming location for scenes featuring Matthew McConaughey and Snoop Dogg in The Beach Bum (a spectacular box office flop), with Jimmy making a cameo appearance. It’s a place where a lot of Key West history quietly overlaps.

Stick around after lunch and take a walk along the historic docks, where the Mel Fisher boats still operate—another reminder that this side of the island still runs on its own rhythm.

Easy to get to by taxi or rideshare. Worth the trip.
